A beautifully floral and articulate Orange Gesha from Luz Angela Rojas and her family at Chorro Alto in Huila.

Luz grew up working alongside her father on the family coffee farm before leaving to pursue a career in healthcare, becoming a head nurse and later working in audit management. During the pandemic she returned to the farm, bringing that experience back into a family project focused on careful agronomy and producing distinctive coffees.

This Orange Gesha is grown between 1,600 and 1,850 metres and undergoes a washed thermal shock process. After selection and flotation, the cherries undergo 24 hours of oxidation before pulping, followed by a further 24 hours of oxidation and a 72-hour fermentation with yeast, Gesha pulp and mosto from a previous fermentation. The coffee is then washed with cold water to halt fermentation before drying.

The result is floral and incredibly clean, with bright lemongrass leading into orange peel and marmalade. As it cools, the cup becomes sweeter, bringing honey, malt and sugarcane with a delicate nutty finish.
